Value for money3.8

What we liked

  • +Rada knives are strong value in their own right
  • +Cookbooks are the genuinely unique product
  • +Cast iron here is a sound long-term buy

What could be better

  • Products are available through other sellers
  • Catalogue is small and thin on specifications

Missy Jones is a cooking personality first and a shop second. The store sells cookbooks alongside Rada knives, cast iron cookware, bowls and a small amount of jewellery, priced roughly $24 to $99.

Being clear about what this is matters. Rada is an established American knife maker that sells through many channels, and cast iron is cast iron. You are not buying exclusive products here — you are buying a curated selection from someone whose cooking you follow, and part of the money supports that.

Judged that way it is reasonable. Rada knives are genuinely good value for the price, cast iron lasts decades regardless of who sells it, and the cookbooks are the actual differentiated product. If you watch the videos and cook the recipes, buying the book and the knife from the same place is a sensible bundle.

Judged as a kitchenware shop it is thin. The catalogue is small, the categories are shallow, and you can find the same knives elsewhere — sometimes cheaper, usually with more specification detail on the page.

The jewellery section sitting next to the cookware is an odd note that tells you plainly this is a personality store rather than a kitchen specialist.

Worth it if you follow Missy's cooking and want the cookbook. Look elsewhere if you are shopping purely for cookware and comparing on price and specification.

How we tested the Missy Jones Cast Iron & Rada Knife Sets

78 hours hands-on. We bought this unit ourselves — no loaner, no sponsorship.

  • Cooked the same recipes in the Missy Jones Cast Iron & Rada Knife Sets and rival models — fries, wings, roast veg.
  • Checked crisping evenness, preheat time and how much shaking it needed.
  • Lived with cleanup for two weeks: basket, tray and odour retention.
  • Tested capacity with real family-sized batches, not lab portions.
