Sound convenience logic and an unusually specific dental formulation, sold behind a headline number that means less than it suggests.

What could be better

  • Leads with ingredient count rather than doses
  • Overlap risk if your dog is already on prescribed supplements

Arterra sells a daily dog supplement combining what would otherwise be several products into one scoop, built from 63 ingredients, at around $20. It also makes a dental chew.

The convenience argument is the real product and it is a good one. Joint powder, skin and coat oil, a probiotic and a dental chew is four products and four chances to forget. Compliance is where supplement routines fail, and a single scoop stirred into food is a routine most households can sustain. If the honest alternative is four tubs used inconsistently for three weeks and then abandoned, the combined product wins on the only measure that matters.

The headline needs a sceptical read though. Ingredient count is not a quality measure. A blend of 63 inputs can mean broad, deliberate coverage — or it can mean many of them are present in amounts too small to do anything, a practice common enough across the supplement industry to have a name. The number alone cannot tell you which, and the figure that can is the amount of each active per serving. Check the label before ordering.

The dental chew is the more interesting item, built around nano-hydroxyapatite. That compound has a real basis in human oral care as a fluoride alternative, which is a more specific claim than the vague plaque language most chews rely on. Set expectations correctly: no chew replaces brushing or a veterinary clean once tartar has hardened.

Worth trying if you are juggling several supplements and losing. Skip if your dog is on a vet-prescribed regimen — combined formulas are exactly where unintended overlaps hide.
